What is a Congregational Church?

A congregational church is a church with a specific form of government that is ruled by the congregation.  Each congregational church is autonomous and entirely free from the external control of a larger governing denomination (such as a Presbytery in the Presbyterian denomination, or Bishops in the Episcopal church). Baleville is a congregational church that centers all of its beliefs and teaching on the truth of the Bible.  The church sees Christ as the head of the church, selects its own leadership, and calls its own pastor.

Our congregation, or church family, is made of a people who love Jesus and want to serve Him.  We gather weekly to encourage one another, spur one another on, and to be obedient to not give up the gathering of believers (Hebrews 10:24-25).  Our Deacons, Trustees and board of Christian Education has been established to serve in conjunction with the senior pastor to care for the church.  We strive to know Christ and our desire is to help each person that comes to Baleville take their next steps towards Jesus.
